HPC-AI Technology, Inc. is a global company offering a software platform that significantly accelerates deep learning training and inference. Our mission is to increase AI productivity. Therefore we help our clients utilize supercomputers and cloud platforms for large neural networks at a much lower cost. We develop the popular open source project Colossal-AI, which forms the core of our platform. Our team's expertise is based on years of academic achievements as well as experience gained from working at tech giants.

Prof. Yang You

Founder & Chairman

Yang received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UC Berkeley. He was nominated for ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award (2 out of 81 Berkeley PhD graduates). He is the only person under the age of 35 in the world who has won the Best Paper/Distinguished Paper as a leader (first author or corresponding author) at 4 top conferences: AAAI, ACL, IPDPS, and ICPP. According to Google Scholar, he is the most cited doctoral graduate in the HPC in 2020. He won the George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship, the only PhD fellowship on ACM website in 2017.

Yang made it onto the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list (2021) for young leaders and received the IEEE-CS Early Career Researcher Award for Excellence in HPC.

Prof. James Demmel

Chief Strategy Officer

James is a Distinguished Professor at UC Berkeley. He is the former chair of the Computer Science Division and EECS Department of UC Berkeley. His work on high-performance computing has been recognized by many honors and awards, including a member of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, American Academy of Arts and Sciences; Fellow of the AAAS, ACM, AMS, IEEE, and SIAM.

Zangwei Zheng

Managing Director

Zangwei earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore under the supervision of Prof. Yang You. He is a core developer of Open-Sora. Zangwei has received Outstanding Paper Awards at top conferences AAAI and ACL. He has also published first-author papers in top-tier conferences, including NeurIPS, CVPR, and ICCV. His research expertise spans large language models and video models, where he has made significant contributions.

Xiangyu Peng

Chief Engineer

Xiangyu received his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore under the supervision of Prof. Yang You. His primary research areas are computer vision and deep learning, including video generation, self-supervised learning, and efficient machine learning. He has multiple publications in CVPR/ICLR/ICCV, including 3 Oral/Spotlight papers. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Nanjing University (the elite class in computer science). He led and deeply contributed to the development of OpenSora.

Yuanheng Zhao

Chief Product Officer

Yuanheng received his bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and master's degree from the University of Chicago. Launching his career at an AI chip startup, he honed his expertise in software and compiler engineering by building components of the AI compiler's pipelines. He is now the Director of Product and leading the product team.

Yanjia Ouyang

Chief Operating Officer

Yanjia graduated with a bachelor's degree from Nanyang Technological University and earned a master's degree from the National University of Singapore, specializing in artificial intelligence under the supervision of Prof. Yang You. As the COO (Chief Operating Officer), she is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the company.
